Terran (TFN) Sandfly CVE

The Terran Federation Navy (TFN) Sandfly-class Escort Carrier (CVE) is created by Todd Dillen, based on Jack Southerland's Starfire artwork. The Sandfly-class CVE was created by Hannah Avrim during the Theban Crusade, when her command was trapped in the Danzig system. In desperate need of carriers to bring fighter squadrons to defend the warp point, she created and prioritized this destroyer-sized carrier because it could be easily produced by the limited industry in the system. During the final assault into the Theban homesystem, the Sandfly carriers were able to sneak into the the system in-between the super dreadnoughts and battleships of the assault fleet. Believing that the Sandflys were mere destroyers, the Thebans ignored them until until the Sandflys were able to launch a surprise fighter assault straight at the Theban carriers.
