Product Description
Project Wild Willy: this is a pair of front body mounts that form part of the GF-01 (Stage 2) conversion; that of taking a Wild Willy 2 body and fitting it to a four-wheel-drive GF-01 chassis. These body mounts place the body in the same location relative to the front axle as the original 1980's model and need to be used in conjunction with (GF-02 - body mounts +3mm offset - straight pair (2KJ6A3JJ6) by Nicherotors (shapeways.com)).
The top of two standard body post are required and need to be cut and inserted into each of these body mounts so that only the top two holes are exposed – one to allow a snap pin to support the body and the top most one to allow a snap pin to retain the body itself. Using slow curing epoxy works well - there is an air vent to avoid any hydraulic lock given the post could otherwise work like a piston in a cylinder and offer resistance.
This arrangement means that the visible top that is exposed through the body is a clean dome and can be rotated to a more convenient angle to use the restraining snap pin. The height is as low as the body can go without fouling the chassis.
