Product Description
Pacific Coast Railway Tank Car #106

One of two thirty-three-one-long Standard Oil tank cars operated on the PCRy numbered X-106 and X-107 built by the N-C-O in their Reno shops in 1913. Model based on drawings by Curt Johnson in the book “The Pacific Coast Railway – Central California’s Premier Narrow Gauge”.

Model includes 3D-printed body and floor. Modeler must supply Micro Trains Line 905 body-mount couplers, Micro Trains Line 004 02 400 arch-bar trucks, 00-90 x 1/4” screws (2), Micro Trains N 49905911 (1089) Peacock Vertical Brake wheel, .012” brass wire for steps and brake staff, and Berkshire Junction EZ Line (or generic “knitting-in elastic”) for truss rods. Recommend replacing MTL wheelsets with Fox Valley (Scale Trains) metal wheelsets.

GENERAL: This is a craftsman kit consisting primarily of 3D printed resin plastic parts. These parts are NOT as strong or flexible as the “engineering” plastics many of you will be used to in railway models, nor even as strong as conventional injection molded styrene. HANDLE THE PARTS CAREFULLY TO AVOID BREAKAGE. Wash the parts in isopropyl alcohol aided by a soft brush. Very thin parts of the kit can be strengthened by applying very small droplets of CA adhesive with the tip of a pin or needle to the back of the thin area after the parts dry. Use Berkshire Junction telephone line or “Knitting In Elastic” from Amazon for truss rods. Do not use CA or Super Glue adhesive on the truss rod thread – use “white glue”. Use a needle threader to feed thread through holes on cross framing or floor.
