Product Description
Steam pioneer Richard Trevithick is most famously associated with his 1804 Pen-y-Darren locomotive – the first engine to haul a train.  However, in 1802 he designed his Coalbrookdale Engine, the first of his plateway designs.  Whether it was actually built or not is unknown, but nonetheless it holds the accolade as the first ever steam railway locomotive.

This model is a kit of parts capable of producing an unpowered but working rendition of the Coalbrookdale engine complete with a strip of scale plateway track (it being incompatible with regular 00 track).  Details of construction can be found in the video below.  Also available is a matching truck and further plateway track, enabling construction of a complete diorama.

Necessary to Complete:
0.5mm and 1mm pins/wire
Weight
Thin plastic or metal strip (for connecting rods)

Optional additional details to scratchbuild (at the builder's discretion):
Control and valve rods (fitting holes pre-formed)

I hope you enjoy this unusual and eye-catching model.
