In 1958, the Riga car building plant stopped the production of three-car sections of SR3 and moved to the construction of electric trains ER1. Until 1959, the Riga railway car building plant built all the cars, starting from 1959, trailer cars began to build the Kalinin carriage building plant, and since 1960 the Kalinin plant was transferred to the construction of head cars.
 1958 году Рижский вагоностроительный завод прекратил выпуск трёхвагонных секций СР3 и перешел на постройку электропоездов ЭР1. До 1959 года Рижский вагоностроительный завод строил все вагоны, начиная с 1959 года прицепные вагоны начинает строить Калининский вагоностроительный завод, а с 1960 года Калининскому заводу была передана постройка головных вагонов.
