Product Description
This is a 28mm/1.10" x 87mm/3.43" chassis with removable battery provision for use in any lightsaber that has a cavity of that approximate dimension - basically, SaberForge ones.

example installation images provided by https://www.instagram.com/saberwielder831/ and were printed on a Wanhao Duplicator 6 FDM printer

Features specific to this chassis include, but are not limited to:
  • Placement for a removable protected 18650! All other chassis in this size category use a fixed 18650, necessitating a recharge port. However, for long days trooping or training, charging up a battery from a port can take way too long. Being able to hot-swap batteries is the best solution, especially with high-drain setups like NBv4 + Neopixel.
  • Under-side recess of 35mm x 20mm, for mounting your primary sound/effects board. Compatible with all Nano Biscotte soundboards, all Pico Crumble soundboards, and the 7Chambers CoreFX / Spectra effects board!
  • NOT COMPATIBLE WITH CRYSTAL SHARD, PRIZM, CRYSTAL FOCUS, OR ANY NAIGON BOARDS If you try this and you blame me you're wrong.
  • If you want something compatible with PRIZM and Proffie, click this sentence to see my other option!
  • Under-side recess for Power Xtender with a channel for sticking electrical tape to hold it in
  • Mounting ring with 10mm depth and two cutouts for any 28mm speaker of your choice! Also compatible with Railmaster 27mm. You may have to sand down the speaker cutouts a bit, but all aforementioned examples worked fine on the test mounting.
  • Glue channels along the left and right sides of battery holder to hold stuff in.
  • Wire channel underneath battery holder

You will need to purchase a Keystone 1042/1042P/1043 battery holder from an appropriate vendor, such as Digi-Key, Mouser, or TCSS ("18650 single cell holder" from them). Upon receiving the holder, you're going to have to cut off the plastic nubs sticking off the bottom. (A future revision may have mounting holes but don't hold your breath.) Before you finish your installation, you're going to have to glue it to the chassis in order to ensure a steady installation using the provided channels. High-temperature hot glue is my recommendation because it's a really strong space-filler, effectively acting as a thermoplastic.

In addition, your speaker is also going to need glue in the appropriate location/s. 27mm/28mm speakers will absolutely protrude from the end of the chassis, and will add anywhere from 3mm-5mm of overall length due to speaker vibration headspace.

87mm is pretty much as short as I could make an RB 18650 chassis, because of the 77mm holder length and 10mm speaker cavity. It should fit MOST sabers but probably not ALL of them. All other chassis with similar specs (fully enclosed 18650 + NB/PEX + speaker) also run between 83 to 128mm in length, but still require recharge ports on either the chassis or in another through-hole location on the hilt. Similarly, there's another chassis that's 76.5mm long, but doesn't have an attached speaker ring. Also, none of them have snap-in/snap-out removable batteries
