Product Description
This is based on a PRR speeder used in the Altoona yards to shuttle the brakemen around. No drawings exist so I guess off the one prototype photo. It is a 5 piece "kit" that is simple to put together. It is designed for HOn30 to fit a Kato 11-105, 11-106, or 11-107 power chassis. The difference between the chassis is only the truck sideframes. I used .0125" wire from Tichy Train Group for the handrails. There is a handrail bending jig mounted to the rear wall. Also used .040" wire for a radiator cap. I would recommend attaching the handrails before glueing the 4 walls together. Roof can be left removable if you like.
It would be easy to mount on a Kato 11-103 or 11-104 chassis as well.
The reason this is a 5 piece "kit" is so Shapeways will print it flat. All the support material ends up inside. The parts in the photos were soaked in Bestine and that is it. No sandpaper or files at all! All the rough surfaces are inside and unseen. There is support under the radiator shroud, but is barely noticeable. This is why the radiator cap is left off.
