After the discovery of insulin by Dr. Fredrick Banting, and his laboratory assistant Charles Best, diabetes became a manageable disease.
However, despite incredible medical progress since their discovery in 1921 diabetes remains a disease that is managed rather than cured.
This charm is to give tribute to the life-saving potential contained within of a vial of insulin and to raise awareness that insulin is not a cure for diabetes. Wear this charm to spark conversations and spread the message. Additionally, $1 from each Steel Charm and $2 from each Precious Metal Charm sold will be donated to JDRF.
Use as a keychain, bracelet, or necklace charm. Loop has in inner diameter of 3mm.
