"Migirone"

I wanna bijou *sniff* …migi migi migi migi migi migi migi migi migi migi migi migi; yet, this is not about the sound one makes when desperately wanting something: 'Migi' is also a nickname for Michelle. And you know, the smartest, nicest, most amazing girls in the world are named Michelle; sometimes they might not think they are special, but that's just a temporary mental disorder; all girls named Michelle are special, and are in fact destined for greatness. Naturally funny, even when they don't mean to be; fun to be around, fun just to talk to; and of course, it is fun to wear a Migirone necklace!

"Migirone" = 'Migi'+'irone' [(3E,5E)-5-tert-butylocta-3,5-diene-2-one (compound 34 in Synthesis 2012, 2985–2998)] is with a detection odor threshold of 0.036 ng/l air so far the most potent iris/orris odorant in the whole irone–ionone familiy. It has a very characteristic orris, irone-type sweet-violet odor with carrot-like and woody-leathery undertones of high signature value. Its synthesis and olfactory properties are described in detail in a paper 'On the Crossroad of Dienone Musks and Cassyrane: Synthesis and Olfactory Properties of New High-Impact Orris Odorants' by P. Kraft, J. S. E. Ahlin, M. Büchel, and P. Sutter in Synthesis 2012, 2985–2998; yet, it is not commercially available. So, to scent the pendant you can either use the perfumery materials detailed for the irone pendant, or well, you have to repeat the synthesis of Migi as detailed in the Sythesis feature article.

As a sort of seco-structure, Migirone has a very catchy visual shape: simple and clear. This makes the Migirone pendant optically stand out even more than the irone pendant. The dimensions of the Migirone pendant are ca. 3.8 cm × 3.4 cm × 1.3 cm, and the hole for the necklace (not included) has a diameter of ca. 3.0 mm.
