Product Description
N scale model of Oakland 16th St Station in Oakland, California.
The 16th St Station is a former main railway station of Southern Pacific Railroad in Oakland, as well as local commuter services such as the East Bay Electric Lines via elevated platforms. For many years the station was the western terminus of the First Transcontinental Railroad.
The Beaux-Art building was designed by architect Jarvis Hunt and opened in 1912.
In 1984 the station was designated an Oakland landmark. In 1989 the building sustained damage during the Loma Prieta earthquick and has since been closed.
