Honey Bee Hex Earrings

NOTE: when I first designed these bees, I got a little too excited and folded the wings the wrong way. In the photos of the final print, the wings are mis-folded, but rest assured that the model is now correct.

Bees are amazing! And very small. These fellers are about 15mm from snout to stinger, which, depending on what bee lives in your neighborhood, may or may not be about to scale. This contains two bees, unique in their pose and detail, standing upon small hexagons on 1mm-diameter (18g) posts.

(These are modeled on the European Honeybee, which is actually the one you're probably most familiar with even if you live in the US, as they're widely kept for honey production. In the future, I'll be making models for native bees, including the Leafcutter, some variety of Bumble, etc!)
