The premier human-manufactured striker from the late 2140s onwards, the Excalibur-class is a heavy, four-engine design most notable for its modularity and sophisticated electronics. The type possesses powerful electronic warfare systems, and is able to use its APQ-163 AESA radar as a light directed-energy weapon, damaging and disabling enemy radars and missile guidance systems. The Excalibur-class may carry up to sixty-four primary combat munitions in its internal bays, though a more common load is an even split of thirty-two PCMs and thirty-two interceptor rounds. In this configuration, while not packing an enormous kinetic punch, the Excalibur is an extremely tough nut to crack. Some spaceframes, particularly those operated by the independent Republic of Texas, sport additional fission reactors and massive railgun or tactical laser installations. These 'Super Excaliburs', as they are known, are a match for most Sinterian craft of Lancer class or smaller.
