Product Description
This slide-in style holder was developed for mounting Sony's ECM-CS3 lapel microphone to the inside front of a motorcycle helmet. The design allows for better capture of vocal frequencies by allowing more stable mounting of the mic closer to the subject's mouth. Mounting the holder is achieved via 3M VHB double sided foam tape available at any hardware or home improvement store.
FITMENT: The height of the holder is around 1.75 cm. This is the minimum clearance needed between the end of your nose and the holder when mounted in the center position inside your helmet. A close approximation would be to take your middle finger (or thumb if you have smaller hands) and place it between your nose and the front of your helmet when taking it on and off.
Instructions:
1) Remove the hinge pin, spring and upper half from the Sony ECM-CS3's lapel clip
2) Remove the screw and detach the lower half of the lapel clip
3) Replace the screw in the mic housing
4) Locate a suitable location to mount the holder inside the front of your helmet. Affix with 3M double sided VHB foam tape.
5) Slide mic in holder and route cable. Enjoy!
*Notes:
- If you prefere a part in another color not offered, the white polished option may be purchased instead with a bit of DIY elbow grease to dye the part yourself to the color you want.

- Dyes used for colored components on shapeways (white is uncolored) are water based and need to be sealed with a UV resistant clear coat for maintaining color appearance with exposure outdoors.
