Ported Triwing pocket sculpture / pendant

"At the heart of the abandoned ship, she found the main drive had already been diassembled and stripped bare. Scattered among the debris were broken tools clearly suited to a form far different from her own, and a quick glance at the chaotic strewing of incomprehensible parts showed only damaged pieces had been left behind. Disappointed, she turned to leave, and a glint caught her eye. Overlooked and wedged in the corner, a device with an unusual torqued shape was clearly still functional. Unlike everything else in the chamber that was corroded and covered in dust, it was still perfect and gleaming  after thousands of years orbiting the dying star. She pocketed it as a momento, and smiled to herself as she eased her way back to the airlock."

Desiged to be a precious and intruiging object from the outset, either as a pocket sculpture* or a pendant. The Ported Triwing is actually geometrically the sister of the Ported Mobious Loop sculpture, but oh what a difference a few extra degrees of torsion make . . .  Although it looks geometrically quite simple at first, as you turn it round you will see there are more connections than you thought. I'm still not quite certain how many surfaces it has, in theory it should be only two. To wear as a pendant, you'll need just some 3mm leather cord from your local craft store or ebay.

*Pocket Sculptures: Art to carry around with you! I think it's wrong to view art as  something you just put on a shelf and admire. We all love to have in our pockets nice beautiful objects we've found - pebbles, driftwood, pretty stones and so on - and to show them to our friends. I am trying to design affordable but beautiful artworks that you can keep with you in your pocket, with satisfying shapes and textures that make you smile.
