Product Description
The two Whale Factory Ships of the Tonan Maru Class No.2 and No. 3 are used as Ausxiliary Oirlers for the japanes Navy in WW II.
Tonan Mary No.2 was sunk by several torpedoes of the US-Submarine Pintado on August 22. 1944
Tonan Maru No.3 was sunk by US-Planes from the Carriers Enterprise, Yorktown and Bunker Hill on February 18. 1944 in the Truk Lagoon. She was raised and repaired in 1951 and made many trips as Whale Factory Ship until she was scrapped in 1970.
