Product Description
This lens hood was designed to be used with the Leica 75mm F2 Summicron-M APO which can flare pretty easily with light sources just outside of the field of view.  The hood has a 67mm filter thread, so it can be used with many other lenses.

I suggest using a 67mm step down ring to 60mm or something similar and leaving that step-down ring in place.  The 3D print quality doesn't have the fidelity or high quality reusable threads.  I attached a 67-55mm step down ring to mine and leave that ring in place at all times.

In person the lens hood looks very good and has very little flex.  The out diamond texture was used to mask the stepping nature of 3D prints - and that worked great.  Likewise, the inside is baffled.  Those baffles are intended to reject light and "bounce" it out of the hood.  Not sure if that works as planned, but it looks good.

I have used the lens hood with the 75mm and 90mm APO it appears to work as intended, but testing is ongoing endeavor.  Thus far it works well the studio (2000 watt set-up, so LOTS of light) and I've used it at night, but not in a particularly challenging setting (yet).

Print color has to be natural black.  Any other color will play havoc with the white balance.  The professional black is a semi gloss result, so it is not a good material for this purpose.  The natural black finish is matte, a bit porous, so it seems the best choice.

Some pictures of the lens hood and comments are available in my Leica 75mm F2 Summicron-M APO lens review.

The lens is pricey because these are very expensive prints.  The print for sale here is the 4th iteration.  I tried to different outer textures and different approach on how to attach the lens hood to the lens.  This variant proved to be the simplest way to go and surprisingly strong.

My last personal print was mid-summer 2018 and I have been using the same print since.  At this stage I really do not think I can improve it any further.  For the step-downs rings, I use the Sensei-Pro rings (available at B&H Photo).  They are ~$8 per ring.  I have tried B+W and Heliopan rings as well.  Aesthetically the Senei Pro rings are a good match, they work fine and get the job done for about 1/3 of the cost (compared B+W and Heliopan).

Both B+W and Heliopan make metal lens hood that can accomplish the same thing; however, none of their hoods are this large.  This lens hood a bit larger than a Canon 135mm F2 or Canon 200mm F2.8 lens hood.
