This is a Small scale model of the recently studied "Yarm" helmet.
It was originally found in the 1950's, but ever since has been thought to be a forgery. It has recently been studied and found to be a genuine early medieval helmet by merit of its construction materials, decomposition product and various other reasons. The report is available here, and is well worth a Read - I found it quite enjoyable, even If I disagree with some of the conclusions and evidence. It is now without a doubt a Helmet from the early medieval period.
My Model is approximately 40mm round.
