Product Description
A 3mm rescale of my 16t BR mineral to diagram 1/109. Not recommended for sale yet - under development - but you can have a go (first to try) if you like. A chassis can be got from the 3mm Scale society, I believe, but at this stage the fit probably isn't perfect and I'll have to make adjustments to the model when I've got feedback from a member of that society. This is similar to the 1/105 in 3mm scale, but the floor is plain smooth as there are no bottom doors on this diagram. The brake gear on the chassis would surely be different between the two diagrammes as the one 1/105 with bottom doors would need dual-side independent brakes, whereas the 1/109 could instead have a shaft between the V-hangers on opposite sides without getting in the way of opening bottom doors. On this model the end door is a separate part which you can glue in place, or swap the part with other models of the same scale. The extra part seems to increase the price by only £1.00 or so in fine detail plastic and even less (about £0.20) in finest detail plastic -  compare with the 1_105 model in 3mmFS where the door is not separate. (...except that I have now changed that model to have a separate end door too - if you get both, you have the option to swap their end doors around for variety)
UPDATE 20200321 Added internal bracing to reduce the risk of the sides bowing out under post-production processing. Unless you load the wagon enough to bury them, you'll want to remove them. Gently scratching the corners where they join the sides with a sharp scalpel should enable you to break them out whole by flexing them slightly. Use the same scalpel or a small file to clean up any little bits that get left behind, but since they're exactly along the lines of the stanchions, a little roughness there won't be a bad thing anyway.
UPDATE 20201201 Thickened the diagonal bracing and handles on the end door to 0.3 mm, in response to a printability concern.
