 Soviet Remnant infantry was generally of poor quality even before it became the Remnant, as the vast majority of standard infantry was conscripts. With the Strayvian invasion, being almost complete out-classed in all aspects by a technologically superior enemy forced the soviets to upgrade their entire arsenal and quickly, as the Strayvians were sufficiently far ahead that the gap outweighed the traditional weight of numbers Soviet strategic modus operandii.

The infantry were among the last to receive new weapons. Standard assault rifles and LSW have remained unchanged with the AK-447 and RPK-176 being the most common.  The ubiquitous RPG-55 LAD is carried by all troopers not burned with heavy weapons.

 Infantry squads attached to the new BMP-10A Svetovid in seven-man squads had a three members for a heavy weapons detachment. The heavy weapons detachment consists of  two AT-5V Spandrel anti-tank missiles (and an ammunition carrier), or three anti-tank gunners armed with the newer RPG-65 MAW or three Flak Cannons, a multipurpose long-range infantry portable anti-infantry and anti-aircraft weapon. The flak cannon is capable of dealing with light vehicles, but is only suited for shield stripping on heavy armour. Some units still had to make do with three riflemen, however.

The infantry attached to the BTR-360A typically comprises nine men in two fire teams, all armed with rifles and RPG-55, except for two men who carry light support weapons (one per fire team).

Typically, a platoon command squad or either type of unit carries an EW specialist in place of a LSW.
