Apollo 11 Command Module

This 3D model is based on the scans of the Apollo 11 command module at the Smithsonian. This was the command module that took Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins to the moon and bought them back to earth.

The Smithsonian made availabel the scans under the CC0 licence. I took the scans of the Command module and the Command module Hatch and converted them into a 3d printable format. This involved combining, solidifying, transferring textures and finally hollowing the parts.
There is a hole at the bottom which is necessary to remove powder from the interior.
