These gorgeous hoops represent 4 major greenhouse gases: water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide. A greenhouse gas is a chemical naturally found in the atmosphere that absorbs heat and radiates it back to the earth. Due to human activity since the Industrial Revolution,  the amount of greenhouse gases has increased in the atmosphere, causing dangerous increases in the earth's temperature and affecting the climate on earth. The greenhouse gases on these unique hoops are represented as space filling models.

The hoops are 2.7 cm (1.1 inches) in diameter. They each weigh approximately 3.5 g. The post diameter is 0.9 mm.
