This was Grumman's first monoplane to fly and its first twin-engine airplane. A light amphibious transport, it also provided
reconnaissance,
anti-submarine, and
air-sea rescue capability. It served with the
U.S. Navy,
Marines, and
Coast Guard as the
JRF, with the
Army Air Corps as the
OA-9 and
OA-13, and as the
Goose with the
Royal Air Force, the
Fleet Air Arm, and the
Royal Canadian Air Force. About 350 were built. The models come two to a set, with one in flight and the other with landing gear extended.
This pair is a re-scale from our
Grumman JRF-5 Goose (2 airplane set) 1/285 6mm. Some parts of the models have been modified to better fit the new scale.
