This is a twenty sided life counter dide (d20) from my 'Faceted' dice set. This die is numbered in a
spindown pattern. This means that consecutive numbers are next to each other. This makes it easier to use it as a life counter in (card)games such as Magic: the Gathering. If do want to use this die for rolling, you can though, because it is designed to be balanced and give a fair result. It weighs about 22 grams printed in steel.
The shape of all dice in this set was designed by indenting the center of each face along sharp geometric edges, which gives the dice a faceted appearance as if they were grown from crystals or made from folded paper. The numbers are designed as cut-outs in the sides, and the dark interior makes them stand out well against the metal of the sides. (For the best readability choose a light finish.) Because this die is made from steel it has a nice heft to it, but because it is hollow it is not too heavy and it will roll well. Great care was given in the design of this die to make sure that it is well balanced and gives a fair roll.
If you are looking for a d20 with regular numbering, or with a numerically balanced layout, for use in roleplaying games, please have a look at the
Faceted dice category in my shop. You can also find a full polyhedral dice set for roleplaying games there, as well as individual dice from this set.
