Monosling

The monosling is an ergonomic pocket slingshot designed to use a single long strand of rubber with a leather pouch assembly at the end. I use Theraband tube, but if you're clever about it you can use flat bands instead.

To fire it you hold it with the mounting point forward, index finger over the tube and then pull the tube around your finger towards your arm. While holding, assert a small amount of downward force on the nose with your wrist. Upon releasing, use that force to drop the monosling (and your hand) slightly, to avoid 'fork strike'. I recommend practicing with something soft for a while until you get the hand motion right.

The Monosling can be used for paintball if you make the appropriate pouch, or small game hunting if you have the right rubber. Small size and low profile make the Monosling ideal to include in a survival kit.
