Pacific Coast Railway Gondola #1169
PCRy gondolas were all built in the PCRy shops on 33-foot flatcar bases and had two- three- or four-board sides. #1169 was converted from the flatcar of the same number sometime between 1915 and 1932. Model based on drawings by Curt Johnson in the book “The Pacific Coast Railway – Central California’s Premier Narrow Gauge”.
Model includes 3D-printed body. Modeler must supply Micro Trains Line 1023 or 1023-B couplers, Micro Trains Line 302000 arch-bar trucks, 00-90 x 1/4” screws (2), TT-scale Peacock brake wheel (available separately), .012” brass wire for steps and brake staff, and Berkshire Junction EZ Line (or generic “knitting-in elastic”) for truss rods. Can be used with 9mm (N-scale) wheelsets for TTn42 or 7.67mm wheelsets for TTn3. Recommend replacing MTL wheelsets with Fox Valley or Intermountain metal wheelsets.
