Product Description
Triquetra is Latin for "three-cornered" The design is used as a religious symbol adapted from ancient Celtic images; most notably in Celtic metalwork and illuminated manuscripts like the Book of Kells; by Christianity to represent the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and the circle around the triquetra signifies the infinite, eternity, protection, and spiritual unity with the divine. It can be found on Celtic crosses and slabs from the early Christian period.
Anywhere you see a triple feature in Celtic culture it represents something powerful and meaningful. Whether it is a triple goddess, a triple god, or a strong triple concept like Mind, Body, Spirit, the effect of the symbol is extremely profound. The number three is pervasive and energized within the Irish/Celtic psychology. It adopts deity, nature, time, and the essence of life.
I chose the triquetra design because of its’ symbolic meaning in Christianity, and the symmetrical and simple nature of the design is pleasing to the eye.
The chain loop is designed to fit a 2mm diameter chain.
