Product Description
This is a one-piece underframe designed for HO scale 36' Accurail boxcars 1300, 1400, 1700, and 1800 series product ranges. It includes a center sill, C-channel needle beams, and queen posts, and is designed to "plug in" to the floor provided with the Accurail models. Truss rods themselves must be supplied by the modeler using fishing line or wire. This part includes slots to mount the K brake assembly provided with the Accurail kit (optional).
This underframe is designed for six truss rods and was created using original drawings of steel center sill underframes used on New York Central Lines 36' boxcars built in the early 1910s.
The underframe may be printed in Smooth Fine Detail Plastic, which provides a smooth finish including rivet head detail, or in White Versatile Plastic, which has a noticeably rougher finish but is less expensive.
