Product Description
A Depression rail to suit the Bofors 40mm canon when this was fitted at the aft (rear) end of the Elco 77 foot (PT59). The purpose of a depression rail is to prevent the gunner from firing shells at the radar tower or at the crew, so it prevents full rotation or it deflects the barrel upwards as it rotates, some later boats were fitted with a cam based disable switch instead! There is also a smaller depression rail for the Oerlikon 20mm canon.
