Product Description
One of the things I love about 3D printing is the ability to do engraved lettering. This is a model of the sign on the Lackawanna freight house in Boonton, NJ. Believe it or not, I scaled it from Google Street View photos, comparing it to the size of the door below it. The model is offered in Versatile Plastic, which gives a nice approximation of concrete due to its somewhat rough surface. The font is basically Futura, but with some modifications to give it the unique Lackawanna look... the "elf shoe" foot on the "L" and the "E"s, for instance, the W that's actually overlapping V's with a connector at the top, and the funky K. The model is 2 3/4" long and 3/4" high (20' x 5'6" in HO). A portion of all proceeds benefits the Anthracite Railroads Historical Society.
