D8443 Gear

This is a replica design for the Magnavox D8443 cassette mechanism gear which has been prone to failure in the original manufacturer's design. The replica design has been tested and used for more than four years for durability and accuracy. The gear may also work on similar cassette mechanisms on systems built by Magnavox and Philips.

It is recommended to use "White Natural Versatile Plastic" material for manufacture. Other materials are listed for those who wish to experiment. I have not tested the other materials. You will probably need to re-bore the center hole of the gear upon receipt. Use a 5/64" drill bit and manually bore out the excess dry powder material. Do not use power drills, nor do not wiggle the bit in the hole when clearing out material.
