This winch was modeled after the winch in the movie African Queen. It is based on real photos from the movie. The gears do not move or work. It is for static models. There was no crank handle in the movie. I only put on parts I could see from the photos. The Anchor is included with the winch in this combo.  It is 1:12 scale. 1 inch to the foot. I designed this winch and anchor to fit the Billings African Queen model boat for a friend building the model.

Example of painted model. White Processed Versatile Plastic takes Acrylic paint well. I do not prime before hand because the surface is slightly porous and grainy. I use Vallejo brand paints that have good coverage, opaque and cover easily over other colors.
