'Twined' Dice D10 Spindown Die (18 mm)

This is a ten sided die (D10) on which the numbers are ordered in a spindown pattern. Because of this it can easily be used to keep track of scores in a variety of games. The sides are numbered 0 through 9. Using a set of two of these dice, you can keep track of scores or life totals, ranging from 1 to 100. To be able to distinguish between the ones and the tens easily, you can use two of these same dice with differently colored finishes.
The die is also perfectly balanced, so that it gives fair results when rolled.

PLEASE NOTE: The numbers on the die are NOT arranged in the regular ten sided die pattern, in which the sum of two opposing sides is always 9. If you looking for a die that has the regular ordering of numbers, please have a look at my other items.

This die is 3D printed in stainless steel, and is available in several different finishes. For an example of the look of these finishes, please have a look at the last picture. The bunny statuettes shown here are examples of these different options.
Because of the 3D printing process the surface of the die is slightly grainy. Because it is printed in steel it has a nice solid feel and weight to it. (This die weighs approximately 12.5 grams, whereas a regular plastic one weighs only about 5 grams.) The die is 18 mm (0.7") high, when measured straight across between a each set of opposing faces, and measures 23.7 mm (0.93") from tip to tip. This is slightly larger than a regular plastic D10.

You will receive the die in its blank metal state. To give the die some more definition and make the numbers stand out more (as in the first picture), you can easily darken or 'ink' the recessed parts. To do so take a small paintbrush and some thinned black acrylic paint (about one part water to one part black acrylic) and simply dab the thinned paint all over the die. Let it dry out (you can use a hairdryer to speed this up) and gently rub the painted die on a piece of cloth. This will remove the paint from the more exposed areas, and leave it behind in the folds and the background behind the numbers. If you missed a spot, or if you want a heavier effect just repeat these steps until you get it to look just the way you want.
