Full Finger Articulated Claw Ring - Complete Hand
This is an update of my full finger articulated claw ring model which I've been meaning to do for a long time: an all fingers hand set.
The parts all come in a single frame. Just cut off the frame to free the parts and snap them together. Each part has little "crease" markings on the inside, numbering fingers from 1 (thumb) to 5 (pinky), although the sizes of the pieces should make it fairly obvious which one goes with which.
It's designed using my hand as reference, which is average size. Hands sizes vary so much it's impossible to make a universal size. Versatile plastic is flexible, but due to the shape I can't make it too thin either. You could always use a bit of heat to adjust the 2 "open ring" parts on the under of the claw which hold it to your fingers (but only heat up the protuding bits, don't go trying to adjust the whole part itself otherwise the hinges might not fit anymore...). If it's too big, you could also had a little layer inside (like foam or cloth, something comfy) too fit it better.
Diameter for each fingers are as follow (Measured at the joints, where the hinges are. These are the hardest area on the claws, not too flexible due to needing rigidity for the hinges. First number is the joint closer to the hand, second number is the joint near the nail):
1 - Thumb : 22mm
2 - Index finger : 20mm - 17mm
3 - Middle finger: 20mm - 17mm
4 - Ring finger: 17mm - 15mm
5 - Little finger: 16mm - 14mm
I'm thinking of making a variant without any hinges or ring parts. Just the top parts, that would have to be glued or sewn to a glove, effectively making a "claw-shaped armor" on the top side of the glove fingers. This way would be pretty much "one size fits all" as you'd only need to find a pair of gloves that fits you, and add the claw parts on it. If anyone is interested please let me know. If I have the time I'll consider doing it.
