"Dinner is ready!"
"Mom! I told you it's on recording!💢"
If you're enough old, you would remember the buttons on cassette deck.
In my childhood, cassette decks were common in homes, schools. I remember that I made my own "Awesome Mix" cassette.
These are cassette deck shaped keycaps in memory of that days, for Cherry MX compatible mechanical switches.
Especially, do you know that some cassette recorder has unique Rec buttons?
Small Rec button and Play button surrounds it.
I think National cassette decks preferred this kind of buttons.
I don't know why but I guess it made easy to push Play and Rec at the same time.
Anyway, I always love that button.
So here it is. I recreate it as mechanical keyboard's keycaps.
I don't know this kind of buttons are common or not outside of Japan.
I hope you do know...
These are not suit as alphabet keys, but I think it has a good shape for function keys or media keys.
Supported Switches
Cherry MX compatible mechanical switches, such as Gateron, Kailh, and Kailh Box Switches.
Please kindly note that maybe there are some switches can’t attach to this keycap because of 3D printing accuracy problem.
Tested only plastic materials
Nylon (Versatile Plastic) and PA12 (Professional Plastic) materials has rough feel texture. If you prefer smooth one, sand papers will do.
Use #400 for sanding and then use #1000 if you like more glossy smooth.
Enjoy!
I'm making mechanical keyboard related things, such as keycaps, Cherry MX compatible accessory, cute keyboard mascot "Keycappie".
