Product Description
United Earth and her allies would not learn the true name the Empire assigned these ships until more than a century after the War. Even today, they are best known by the reporting name the Fleet assigned them - "Chowder".

Where the large and imposing "Cabbage" type cruisers were the forefront of the Empire's assault fleets, these smaller vessels were primarily used in a defensive role within the Empire itself. While still powered solely by fusion, rather than antimatter as newer UESF designs, they were faster than their larger cousins and more maneuverable. They carried a similar weapons loadout, with six missile tubes and a (smaller, but still very potent) plasma cannon. "Chowder" type cruisers tended to be deployed in packs of three, stationed in the pathways of expected attacks. While more effective than the larger "Cabbage" types, they were still unable to stem the advance of United Earth fleets once the tide of the war turned.

While none of these ships were ever captured intact, large elements of debris were collected and are on display at the Fleet Museum. A holographic walk-through is also available but patrons are reminded it is only an estimated reconstruction.

Based on original art by Masao Okazaki. Used with permission. This model is offered in different scales for your gaming pleasure - the item you are viewing is in 1/5000 scale, sutiable for gaming with large miniatures from a variety of manufacturers.
