This is a bracket to hold a M.2 SSD drive like a Samsung SM951 or XP941 in the first bay of the ASUS G751 laptop. It has been tested with all revisions of the G751 and is currently installed in my G751JY-DB73X with a SM951. It has an open top to allow heatsinks to be installed as well as ventilation holes to create positive airflow. This is my 13th design and it is the lightest while maintaining strength.
With 4x 19x19x5mm heatsinks i was able to lower average temperatures of the SM951 by 7 degrees in crystaldiskmark and the Xp941 by 11 degrees.
You will need to drill 2x 2mm holes in the tabs if you want the bracket screwed down. Asus used different spacing for international versions so i am unable to incorporate the holes in the design or it wont work for some people. The drive itself will slide into the bracket and be held by the rails but there is a riser you can also drill into if you wish to secure the drive to the bracket with a screw. I used 2x5mm screws to secure the bracket to the hard drive cage mounting holes.
I will consider making custom version on request.
