4-camera Base

The "4-camera base" is the central piece of the 4-camera Rig, designed for Gopro Hero4 (or Hero3) that have been modified to receive a super wide angle lens(between 190-Degree and 220-Degree for best results)

The Rig System has been designed with modularity in mind. Once mounted in the "Camera cages"(available in the store), the Gopro cameras can be installed either on the 3, 4 or 6 camera base(2 and 8 camera bases in preparation, prototypes available for printing at Shapeways on special  request).

The "4-camera Base" is composed of:
-one square base

other parts requested to make a working Rig:
-Four 3d-printed "Camera Cage Set"  (sold in store)

Screws and nuts to assemble the 4-camera rig (Not sold in store, Ebay links provided ):
-3mm/M3x0.5 - Socket Head Cap screws - 30mm long - Qty needed 12 (3 per camera)
-3mm/M3x0.5 - Hex Nuts - Qty needed 20 (5 per camera)
-3mm/M3x0.5 - Flat Head Socket screws countersunk - 12mm long - Qty needed 8 (2 per camera)       

Already modified Gopro cameras can be bought directly from Peau productions
Otherwise DIY lens installation can be done easily on stock Gopro cameras.

The 4-camera configuration with Hero4 Black edition can achieve a video ouput resolution of up to 5.6K per eye in 3D(Stereoscopic) at 30fps.  Photo resolution up to 3k x 6k.
In 2D mode(monoscopic), comparable resolutions can be achieved with the benefit of ample overlap between cameras, allowing more precise stitching.
All rigs have a 1/4" hole clearance in the center, for tripod or grip mounting.
The camera cages have been designed to allow good heat dissipation and an access to all buttons and connectors, including the rear 30-pin bus connector, that can be used to power the cameras from an external source, via a Battery Eliminator cable.
