Phantom 4 Collision Remediation, Accessories Utilization Platform and Tracking Beacon For First Responders
This is a payload platform that I designed for flying around cliffs and tall buildings where air currents can be unpredictable. The idea here is that the outer bumper is designed to be much stronger than the common propeller protectors one finds. By providing a strong frame and bumper system the pilot can recover and continue flying when wind gusts move the craft into structures or cliff faces.
A beacon light mounting platform is added to provide daytime and nighttime observation of the craft at long range. This has the obvious benefit of letting the pilot know where the craft is, but also in search and rescue missions the person or persons in distress may have cell phone or radio communication while not having the ability to describe their location effectively, yet if the craft can be seen it may be directed via giving the pilot directions as to which way to fly the craft.
Also included is a heavy duty payload platform for mounting items above and below the platform.
There's not much needed to get this operational, nor is it difficult to do, just some simple wire connections. Here is the bill of materials and where to get them.
DS-30 Drone Strobes > DS-30 WHITE STROBE From North American Survival Systems
Phantom owners have commented about how much they like these beacon lights! They say they can see their Phantoms from over a mile away in daylight! Perfect! The price is higher than I'd like to see, but they are only 10 grams, which almost makes up for the price. The cost is $50. One needed. In addition to white they come in infrared, blue and red.

These tiny rechargeable lithium coin batteries will power the beacon light for hours. 4.1 grams each. Three needed.
Total weight for all screws and nuts is 31.152 grams. Total weight of the 3D printed parts is 221.25 grams. With screws and nuts, beacon light and batteries the total weight is 274.702 grams. A Phantom 4 can carry about 600 grams, so that leaves about 325.29 grams for other accessories.
As for instructions, just wire the three coin batteries in series along with the beacon light. You could add a switch and a means for easily disconnecting the battery pack for easy charging as well if you wanted.
