An epicylcloid is the figure made by a circle rolling around another circle, in this case, one exactly 3 times as large, producing a 3 cusped figure. This version is made by erecting circles on the tangent chords to that curve, which is visible looking down the Z axis.Epicycloids were made famous by the Spirograph.
