Embraer E190-E2

With the launch of the CSeries by Bombardier, Embraer quickly began development of improvements to its family of E-Jets. Instead of a brand-new airliner in the 100-seat market, they chose to make considerable modifications to their existing line of E175, E190 and E195 aircraft, naming them "the E-jets second generation". The largest change aside a redesign of the wing are the massive PW1000G turbofans, which considerably improve fuel efficiency due to their geared design.

This design was a "Frankenstein" of parts if you will. As the only major changes obvious to a 3D-printable model were the wings and engine, I went to work "shopping" for parts from the rest of my inventory. As the CSeries fuselage was a close match to the E170, I modified the airframe to match the Embraer design. By stretching the fuselage and changing different parameters of the control surfaces, that left me with only the need to redesign the engines, wings and wing root. I was also able to test out a new process that allows consistent thickness of the trailing edge, as previous models were prone to jagged edges further out the wing, due to their very thin profile.
