This is a simple clip for your pants or belt that provides a place for you to seat your vive controller during gameplay.
How many times have you been immersed in VR and need to adjust your headset, untangle your tether, scratch your back or generally needed a free hand? This keeps happening to me, and every time I wish I had a quick place to set my controller. I invariably try to orient myself in room space and find my desk, which always fails, and end up defaulting to setting the controllers on the floor.
So I've made a belt clip controller holster.
I modeled this V1 prototype from the controller models that can be found in the steam folder (The version I used was "vr_controller_vive_1_5.3ds". From here, I eliminated the majority of the surfaces on the controller and left just enough to receive the front end. I then connected these parts to a very simple model of a belt clip.
