Forest Terror

Roaming a dark forest in a meditative exercise, I heard a rustling in the bushes behind me. Turning around, I saw a terrifying gnome-sized creature charging out of the undergrowth, wielding a crude tree-branch axe, covering half his body with a flowing cloth. The beast had hideous compound eyes and demonic horns, and seemed to be wearing a failed warding amulet about its neck, and iron boots on its feet. It shrieked in an awful flanged ululation, and swung its axe at my head. I rolled out of the way, and began to flee.
