Product Description
When you want to shoot footage during wedding ceremonies, in wild life situations or in other scenarios where the background sound levels are low, the humming noise from your DJI drone’s motor and propellors can be distracting or in some cases even disturbing. By carefully crafting turbulence mitigating structures in the propeller blades, sound intensity reductions down to -3dB can be achieved. This corresponds to a 50% reduction in sound, which can mean the difference between a "go" a "no-go", even when it comes at the cost of a slightly reduced battery life.
The current design proposal makes use of fractal structures that are also considered in aerospace industry and is at the level of early development.
The propellor design started from the propellor found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:30284.
