Product Description
This six wheel tender is based off the one seen in the photograph of the Cheshire Railroad's number 1 "Rough and Ready" taken c. 1863. It is made to fit an ARU Model power truck (ARU Model C4001). It is the perfect companion for the HO scale model of Rough and Ready available in my shop, and appropriate for powering many 1850's-1860's model  locomotives that are too small to fit a motor.

To complete this model you will need:
  1. ARU Model power truck with 15mm wheelbase (ARU Model C4001, available from plazajapan and other online retailers).
  2. One pair of 36" HO scale wheels (10.5mm) on a standard 26mm pinpoint axle.
  3. One Kadee or EZ-Mate coupler with bottom offset shank.
  4. One 7 or 8mm long M2 screw for mounting the coupler, and washer to fit same.
  5. Two 1.5M self-tapping screws for mounting the tender to the motor, any length between 3mm and 6mm will work.

Additionally 26 or 24 gauge wire may be used to form hand rails (the model has the holes to fit these "printed in"), a brake wheel or crank, rivet decals, etc. to make a fully detailed model. It is possible to wire the leading unpowered axle for electrical pickup, and the tender has space internally for a small DCC decoder.
