Product Description
TLDR; These items are spheres, but aren't, have odd properties because of this, and are very addicting desk toys.
A very peculiar shape, indeed. The solid of constant width is created from the profile of a shape of constant width, and shares many of the same properties with it's 2D cousin. No matter how it is measured with a pair of calipers, a shape/solid of constant width is always the same width, hence the name. It really doesn't make any sense until you see them in action, rolling perfectly smooth when they seemingly shouldn't. So check out a video on the internet and decide to buy yours here, today!
COST SAVING: I've connected several together, as nobody wants just one, and this saves you more depending on the set. Strong and flexible plastics have a per part price that adds up quickly, so even just the 16 set saves you $22.50 in white, $30.00 in polished white, and $37.50 in black or polished colours. Not to mention the crazy price per part of ordering any of the metals as individual parts. High definition Acrylate is also quite reasonable, considering it's normally $5/part, and will roll noticably smoother.
INSTRUCTIONS / USES:Any of these materials can be printed and broken apart for stress relief, then played with as oddly shaped, but very smooth, ball bearings. Simply give two parts a twist, and file away any extra material from the old joint. Now you can drop them all on a flat desk and spin a book on them, or roll things across your desk on their 1cm tall backs. It's mesmerising to watch under a flat piece of glass, or clear plastic. The 32 set is just about enough for an entire office, you could buy them for some friends, or maybe the floor outside your boss's office, to keep him rolling on through the day! This Bulk size order is far more cost efficient because of the increased order size, but if this doesn't work for you, please feel free to suggest a specific number that you desire, and I will create the most cost efficient set I can just for you.
