Product Description
This item is a set Mile Markers styled to match the New Haven Railroad’s early years. Mile Markers were used for many things including calculating train speed; their primary purpose was to mark the number of miles from the railroads terminus. Mile Markers are still used today on active mainline railroads to help notify location and mark territories.
This set of HO-scale markers was designed based off actual prototype measurement. The Valley Railroad, commonly known as the Essex Steam Train & Riverboat, a former branch of the New Haven still uses these markers to indicate its route from Old Saybrook, CT to Middletown, CT. They are prototypically painted white with block style numbers listing vertically. Occasionally they will even be marked with letters to indicate a specific point on the route or an operational point of importance like to mark the furthest point of a scheduled northbound trip.
These markers just need a fresh coat of paint and numbered before installation on your layout. Easily customize them to match your freelance or prototype to add just another point of realism to your home or club layout.
Multible scales are avalible. Feel free to contact me if you don’t see the scale you needu or if there are any questions or comments.
