Product Description
The 12,8cm Flak 40 was the heaviest anti aircraft gun in german service during WW II. Normaly mounted stationary in fortified positions or on so called Flakbunkers, (single Flak 40 or twin Flakk 44 mounts), because this gun was too heavy for quick moving. Too make it more mobile and to create unexpected anti aircraft barriers the Flak 40 was mounted on a large railway flatcar. A large gunnery plattform could be folded out, also some grund supports for a stable firing plattform. Ammunition was stored at each end of of the car. Set contains one 12,8cm Flak 40 in firing position on a flatcar.
