The only model of the
Lockheed Altair in
6 mm scale. The
Altair was essentially a Lockheed Sirius with a retractable landing gear and was developed at the request of Charles Lindbergh. Eleven were built, one of which (the "Southern Cross") was used for the first flight between Australia and the United States. They were used by the
U.S. Army Air Corps at the Y1C-23 and -25 and by the Navy as the XRO-1.
This sert includes a model with the landing gear extended and the propeller and another model representing the airplane in flight (No propeller or landing gear)
