From 1997 until it was discontinued in 2001, Jeep offered a 2, 3, or very rare 4 switch panel in the center of the dash below the HVAC controls. The 4 switch panel was in Police Package Cherokees and some vehicles exported to Europe. Jeep stopped making the 4 switch panels in 2011, and all new old stock sold out by 2012. The last new old stock panels went for about $150, and the last 4 switch panel on ebay sold for $225!
Cherokee enthusiasts (like myself) have scoured eBay, forums, and junkyards for the elusive panel. In June of 2015, I started trying to replicate the design.
There are 7 OEM TJ/XJ switch ports and no power points on this model.
You can either use factory switches or aftermarket OEM-style TJ/XJ switches, except the Rubicon Axle Lock switch--they are significantly wider than other switches (in the picture floating around of Rubicon Axle Lock switches in one of my panels, the switch caps have been removed from the axle lock switches and installed on fog light switches).
eBay and Amazon have several listings for aftermarket switches.
