Queensland Rail EMU - Middle Carriage (N or HO)

This is a model of the middle carriage of the Queensland Rail Electric Multiple Unit. Found on the suburban line, stretching from the Gold Coast to Gympie and from Rosewood to Cleveland this trains were the first of the electric passenger fleet to be introduced. Manufactured by Walkers Limited, based in Maryborough, this trains are a staple for commuters in South East Queensland. Originally, the EMUs started their lives in silver but were eventually painted into the yellow, silver and marron colour which easily identifies them. Many fo the EMUs have been updated so that the doors are push button activated and the side roofing panels now have decretive strips like the ones found on the side. By 2018 all of the EMUs will be removed from service for new generation rolling stock (NGR) to take their place and this new will run along side the SMU (Suburban MU) and IMU (Interurban MU).
